Dental Staff

Our team loves our patients and takes pride in offering them a warm neck pillow and turning on the massage chair for them. They are our patients’ advocate and are always concerned that our patients’ needs are met. They strive for comfort, convenience, and doing the things that will help keep our patients’ teeth healthy.

Betty

Betty is an Ashe County native. Betty has been with us for over 50 years. She loves working with our patients and says many of them are like family.

She has been married to her husband, Lanny for 48 years. They are blessed with two children; Charity and Lance, four grandsons; Dakin, Kai, Imri, and Cohen and a granddaughter, Ella. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, working in the yard, reading, traveling, and relaxing at the beach.

Andriea

Andriea is originally from Sparta. She loves spending time with all of our patients and the teamwork at Mountain Town Dental.

When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her son and being outdoors.

Kristina

Kristina started her dental assistant career in 2024. She attended the Accelerated Academy for Dental Assisting in Boone. She enjoys meeting new people.

In her time off, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoys music and art.

Kayla

Kayla started with Mountain Town Dental after completing the Accelerated Academy for Dental Assisting course in 2023. She enjoys working with the team and patients at Mountain Town Dental.

In her personal time, she enjoys sitting on her porch reading and taking her dogs, Bubs and Bailey, to the creek.

Chelsie

Chelsie is one of our dental hygienist and graduated from honors from Wytheville Community College in 2017. She strives to make every patients dental experience as enjoyable as possible, while providing thorough cleanings.

She lives in Galax with her husband and dog, Bella. She loves spending time with her friends and family.

Theresa

Theresa enjoys meeting new people and helping them attain good dental health. She is a detail-oriented and compassionate dental hygienist who has over 30 years of experience providing gentle yet thorough care. Theresa takes great pride in her work making people’s smiles healthier and brighter!

Theresa is married with two children, Mabry and Bennett. The family raises horses and goats, and has several dogs and outdoor cats. Theresa enjoys carriage driving her horses, watching her children play soccer, and being active in Veterans Service Groups.

Micala

Micala graduated first in her class from East Tennessee State University in 2017, with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She loves making her patients feel at ease and involved with their dental care.

Micala is a native of Ashe County and enjoys spending time with her husband, Tyler, and toddler, Atticus. She and her husband will be welcoming their second baby boy at the end of 2021.

Joni

Joni is the Insurance Coordinator at Mountain Town Dental and started with the team in 2023. She has years of experience helping patients with their insurance and financial questions.

She has two grown sons and enjoys being in the outdoors and attending car shows with her significant other.

Sierra

Sierra attended the Accelerated Academy for Dental Assisting and began her dental assistant career with Mountain Town Dental in 2024. Sierra enjoys working with the team at Mountain Town Dental and meeting new people.

When not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and seeing new places.

Molly

Molly has a background in Outdoor and Psychology Studies, majoring in Wilderness Leadership and Experiential Education at Brevard College. This experience helped her grow in leadership and in confidence and she wanted to be able to do that for others. Following college, she worked in wilderness therapy and then at Outward Bound where she was able to put her passion for interpersonal skills to good use. Molly came to MTD in April of 2024 where she took up the position of Client Care Coordinator. In this position she has found she enjoys the interpersonal part of communicating while checking out patients.

In her off time she enjoys backpacking and camping, weightlifting, eating lots of food, and listening to country and bluegrass music. At the office you can find her cracking jokes, talking *a little too* loudly, or enjoying a conversation with a patient or coworker. There are also times you will find her doing her job as the new Financial Coordinator:)
